Make the most of your handstand training.
You don’t need more apps, exercises, tools, or general information.
You need to know how you should apply the information.
Hi, I’m Craig, a handstand coach with 10+ years of experience teaching adults how to handstand online and in-person.
‘Craig's classes were different... there was far more detailed feedback - both during the class and after. He was extremely generous in sharing his knowledge and genuinely did his best to help each student do their absolute best, regardless of their level.’

I believe in coaching,
not instructing.
Coaching has 3 steps.
The last step is
what makes the difference.
The 3 Steps
-
Assessment of your current level.
Work out your limiting factor.
Your limiting factor is the main thing holding you back and why you’re not progressing or progress is very slow.

-
Select the right exercise(s), or create them if needed.
Choose the right intensity and amount to improve the limiting factor.

-
Communicate how to do the exercises and how to approach your training in a way that makes sense to your brain and your body.
What to focus on,
What cues work for you,
What success looks like for you specifically,
How and when to progress.
NOT using the same 4-5 cues for everyone.
This is how we make the most of your training.
This is what makes good training into great training.
This is what turns instructing into coaching.

Common Questions
-
I enjoy working with all levels.
The best part about coaching, to me, is guiding and seeing students progress; no matter the level.
Whether that’s not feeling scared anymore and progressing away from the wall, doing your first press, balancing on one arm for the first time, or anything in between.
My job is to help you make the most of the time and effort you put in. If you’re excited to put in the effort then I’m also excited.
-
The short answer - Feedback and precision.
The more feedback loops you have the more you stay on track and the smoother the progress.
The more precise the feedback the less time you waste in your training.
I often coach people who have bought multiple courses, tried on their own for a while, and become stuck and stopped progressing. It’s also why I offer ‘focus blocks’ of training, so I can help people get past the common problems that occur with apps / courses / toolkits.
They’re not a bad place to start and can work well for some people, they just have their limitations.
In fact, everyone I know who has created that kind of thing also does 1:1 coaching. This is because even the best app / course / toolkit can’t help everyone.
As with most things of this nature, they often only work as well as the person using it understands how to use it.
-
There is no minimum time commitment, but realistic expectations are required.
Some people progress faster, some progress slower.
Generally, although not always, the less you train the slower you will progress.
The other training you do and your current level will also impact this.
I will do my best to help you make the most of the time you do train.
If you send me an email with how much time you think you can commit as well as your current level, experience, training background, other training, and goals I will be able to give an idea of whether your time commitment is realistic for your goals.
-
Unfortunately not, I can’t suddenly make handstands super easy.
(and sadly anyone who says they can guarantee they will be easy is either lying or delusional)
Big jumps in progress are possible, sometimes a small change can make a huge difference.
As a coach I love it when those moments happen, but this is often on the back of the foundations having been laid.
I will help you make the most of the energy you put in, I will adjust the training to suit your needs and keep it engaging and fun (as much as I can), I will support you when it’s tough; but the repetitions still need to be done.
No one is good for no reason.
I’ll say it again - no one is good for no reason.
About
Hi, I’m Craig,
I’ve been coaching for as long as I can remember, quite literally actually.
It started with coaching various types of gymnastics as a teenager but when, as a part of my own training, I specialised in hand balance at the National Centre for Circus Arts in 2013 I also started teaching adults how to handstand.
So, at this point, I’ve seen quite a few handstands, and done quite a few myself.
What I’ve learned and what I love is that handstands can constantly evolve, there are always new ideas to explore and skills to improve. Curiosity, both as a coach and in my own training has meant that the learning and growing never stops.
As a coach, I share this idea of exploration and guide people through the mindset shifts and physical development they need to keep progressing.
